Join us for a powerful and inspiring evening during Rocky Point Bird Observatory’s Victoria Bird Week — a celebration of birds in the Birding Capital of Canada.

In partnership with the Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea, RPBO invites you to experience a special screening of Sandpipers’ Last Supper — with the filmmaker and cast in attendance.

This beautifully crafted film tells the story of a tiny shorebird’s epic migration, sustained by biofilm — an invisible, mud-based superfood found in intertidal habitats. As the film unfolds, it reveals the surprising richness of mudflats, the deep ecological connections that sustain migratory birds, and the urgent need to protect these rapidly disappearing ecosystems.

Following the screening, stay for a live panel discussion with the filmmaker Isabelle Groc, cast member Adam Ross, and Dr. Pat Baird, Seabird and Shorebird biologist. This is a rare opportunity to go deeper — to ask questions, hear behind-the-scenes insights, and explore how each of us can play a role in conserving vital shorebird habitats.
